Samedi 14 janvier 2017 à 18h00 au Mémorial ACTe: suite du cycle de conférences de L'Artocarpe sur la Black Aesthetics. La session de Janvier sera en présence de Jean-François Boclé, un des rares artistes de la Caraïbe française, à avoir une oeuvre au sein de la collection Saatchi & Saatchi (Angleterre). Une belle opportunité pour les artistes et le grand public d'échanger plus avant. Evenement tout public.

Saturday 14th January 2017, at 18h00 at Memorial ACTe: come and join us on this new conference on Black Aesthetics. For the New Year, the talk shall be in presence of the artist Jean-François Boclé, one of the rare French Caribbean artists to enter the Saatchi & Saatchi collection. An event NOT to be missed!

 

L'oeuvre de Boclé est résolument contemporaine: elle mixte les médias, interroge l'actualité, les visuels qui nous entourent et requestionne notre relation à notre environnement et à nos valeurs.

A  compter de Janvier 2017, Boclé fait escale en Guadeloupe, invité par la plateforme de WI'AN ART (Lycée Gerville Réache) à faire des ateliers pour les élèves de lycées et collèges à travers l'île.

Il revient de la Biennale de Colombo (Inde) où il a réalisé une performance en la préparation d'un colombo pour plus de 300 personnes. Il sera prochainement en exposition à travers la programmation de WI'AN ART qui sera annoncée prochainement.

Boclé's art pratice is definitely contemporary! The artist makes use of any types of media to revisit our relationship with our values and our environment.

The artist is to be in Guadeloupe on a project with WI'AN ART, the plateform in charge of his venue for this event. During that time, Boclé shall run art workshops in colleges and high schools all around the island.

Boclé took part in the recent Colombo biennale (India) during which he did a huge performance by making an meal (a colombo curry) for over 300 people.

WI AN ART is planning an exhibition with artwork from Jean-François Boclé very soon: keep an eye on their update!

In the meantime: come and join us on Saturday 14th January at 6PM at Memorial ACTe!
